Description

This is a beautiful "Aladin and the Magic Lamp" (Aladin und de Wunderlampe) collectible plate. It is the first of a series of twelve plates created by Bjorn Wiinblad. It is made by Rosenthal Studio Line, Germany from 1976 - 1982. It is made of exquisite fine procelain and features vibrantly colored image of Aladin, the lamp, and the Genie. They are enhanced with special metallic details and signed by the artist. It measures approximately 6 1/2" in diameter. It is in excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks. Artist Background: (1918 -2006) Bjorn Wiinblad was a danish painter, designer, and artist in ceramics, silver, bronze, textiles, and graphics. His artwork has been exhibited internationally since the early 1950's.
