Famous French illustrator and cartoonist Raymond Peynet started designing couples "Les Amoureux" (The Lovers) in whimsical scenes - usually with a funny twist like this one - in 1942 and began his collaboration with iconic German porcelain manufacturer Rosenthal in the 1950s. Model 1534G. This oval vintage plate is probably from the 1960s and shows the lovers sitting in a fruit tree. The plate is in very good vintage condition without any damage, chips, cracks, crazing or repairs. The size is approximately 7 1/2" long and 6 1/4" wide. Plate has holes for hanging in upper rim. It is signed by Peynet on the front and comes to you from a non smoking home. Buyer pays shipping from Florida.
