This super rare set of 8 Rosenthal plates features stunning portraits of drag queens by renowned photographer Martin Schoeller. The set is an original production from 2021 using photographs Schoeller took at RuPaul's DragCon 2019. 6 of the 8 plates are limited to a production of 100 pieces. 2 are limited runs (meaning they are part of the series, but not numbered). The set is numbered 26 of 100. It's rare to find these plates individually, let alone a full same numbered set. NOTE: plates are in pristine condition. Storage boxes show some wear. #dragisnotacrime Martin Schoeller (German, 1968) is one of the most famous contemporary portrait photographers in the world. Raised in Germany, Schoeller studied photography at Lette-Verein and moved to New York City in the mid-1990s, where he now lives and works. Since 1998 he has contributed to publications such as National Geographic, Vanity Fair, The New York Times Magazine, Rolling Stone and GQ, among others. He has also worked on many major advertising campaigns (including those for Coca-Cola, Mercedes, DreamWorks and Johnnie Walker) and has received numerous awards. Most recently he received praise for his image of Colin Kaepernick in the Nike "Just do it" campaign which won a prestigious D&AD Black Pencil and Grand Prix award at Cannes. Schoeller's portraits are exhibited and collected internationally, in solo exhibitions in Europe and the United States, and are part of the permanent collection of the National Portrait Gallery, Smithsonian Institution, Washington, DC. Royalties on this limited edition Rosenthal Collection benefitted the West Hollywood LGBT Cultural Center which, among others, provides medical assistance services to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community of Los Angeles.
