Description

Famous French illustrator and cartoonist Raymond Peynet started designing couples "Les Amoureux" (The Lovers) in whimsical scenes - usually with a funny twist like this one - in 1942 and began his collaboration with iconic German porcelain manufacturer Rosenthal in the 1950s. This oval vintage plate is probably from the 1960s and shows the lovers embracing in a boat, surrounded by birds and reflected in the water kissing. The plate is in very good vintage condition without any damage, chips, cracks, crazing or repairs. The size is approximately 7 1/2" long and 6 1/4" wide. It is signed by Peynet on the front and comes to you from a non smoking home.
